Ramon is a (New Yorkino / Afro-Caribbean / American) designer (as Estudio Ramon) and educator based in Providence, Rhode Island. He works in a hybrid design/teaching practice focusing on collaboration, inclusion, unearthing and the responsible expansion of design, a practice he has named “puncturing.” After teaching experiences at Pratt Institute, Parsons/The New School, CUNY–Queens College and at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) Ramon is currently an Assistant Professor in the Graphic Design Department at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). As the initiator of the Decolonizing Design Reader, Ramon runs an open collaborative research collection revolving around the politics of design.

Design as a tool for transition: Which responsibilities should designers be aware of when it comes to shaping possible futures? Which methodologies in design processes can bring systemic change or transformation and what kind of perspectives offers design education in this context? Christian Zöllner and design critic and curator Vera Sacchetti talk about the role of design disciplines in change as well as about acknowledging and questioning privileged designerism and solutionist approaches.

Vera Sacchetti is a Lisbon-born and Basel-based design critic and curator. She was a guest at the Hurra Hurra festival and co-hosted the panel discussion “Ivory Tower vs. Reality” about teaching and learning formats and the topic of design theory. Sacchetti serves in a variety of curatorial, research and editorial roles, most recently as program coordinator for the multidisciplinary research initiative Driving the Human and curator of the initial edition of architecture festival Archipelago: Architectures for the Multiverse. She is co-curator of TEOK Basel and one half of the curatorial initiative Foreign Legion. Her writing has appeared in Disegno, Metropolis, and The Avery Review, among others. Sacchetti teaches at ETH Zurich and HEAD Geneva, and in 2020 joined the Federal Design Commission of Switzerland.

Zach Lieberman is an artist, researcher and educator based in New York. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in art and a master's degree in design and technology. Lieberman experiments with new ways of artistic expression and creates artwork through writing and programming software. He is co-creator of openFrameworks, an open source C++ toolkit for creative coding and co-founder of the School for Poetic Computation, a hybrid of a school, residency and research group exploring the lyrical possibilities and essence of code as a creative medium. Currently, Zach Lieberman also teaches the Future Sketches class as an Adjunct Professor at the MIT Media Lab.

Axel Kufus ist Designer und Professor für Industriedesign an der Universität der Künste in Berlin. Nach einer Schreinerlehre und einem Designstudium an der UdK, begann er eigene Möbel zu konzipieren und zu entwickeln. Sein modulares FNP-Regalsystem wird bis heute von Moormann produziert. Von 1989 bis 1993 kooperierte er zusammen mit Andreas Brandolini und Jasper Morrison im Büro ‘Utilism International’, dessen Schwerpunkt Design für den öffentlichen Raum war. 1988 gründete er das Werkstudio Berlin und entwickelt seitdem Produkte und Interiors für Moormann, Wilkhahn, Magis, Nomos Glashütte, Cassina, die Documenta 11 und viele mehr. Als Professor für Produktdesign lehrte er zunächst an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Seit 2004 hat er eine Professur an der Universität der Künste in Berlin inne und ist dort Direktor des Instituts für Produkt- und Prozessgestaltung. Kufus ist Mitglied der Projekt-Kooperative OH–Studio und Intitator verschiedener experimenteller Kooperationsformate.

Amelie Klein ist Kuratorin, Autorin und Designkritikerin. Sie war auf dem Hurra Hurra Festival zu Gast und Teil des Panels „Matters of Sustainability“. Von 2011 bis Mitte 2019 arbeitete sie als Kuratorin am Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, wo sie für mehrere internationale Wanderausstellungen verantwortlich war, darunter „Victor Papanek: The Politics of Design“, „Hello, Robot. Design zwischen Mensch und Maschine“ und „Making Africa – Ein Kontinent des zeitgenössischen Designs“. Klein war zweimal für den Kurator*innenpreis der Kunstzeitschrift „art“ nominiert, eine Auszeichnung für die besten Ausstellungen in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz. Sie hat einen Master-Abschluss in Design Criticism von der New York School of Visual Arts und einen Abschluss in Betriebswirtschaftslehre von der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. Mehr als zehn Jahre lang arbeitete sie als Redakteurin und Journalistin, unter anderem für die österreichische Tageszeitung „Die Presse“ und Magazine wie „Abitare“ und „Metropolis“.

Prem Krishnamurthy is a designer, curator, writer, and teacher based in Berlin and New York. He was guest at the Hurra Hurra Festival and prototyped a lecture performance on "Ways of Graphic Design-ing". He currently directs Wkshps, a multidisciplinary design practice, is artistic director of FRONT International 2022, the Cleveland triennial of contemporary art, and organizes Commune, an emergent, multiform workshop that practices artistic tools for social transformation. Prem received the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Communications Design in 2015. In March 2020, he started a live, collaborative, virtual event series called Present! as part of the artist collective Home Cooking. His experimental, ever-changing, electronic book, P!DF, is available online.

Mark Braun betreibt seit 2006 sein eigenes Designstudio in Berlin. Das Studio steht für hochwertige Leistungen im Bereich von industriell gefertigten Produkten, Accessoires und Möbeln. Zu den Kunden gehören Unternehmen wie Conmoto, Hem, mono Germany, NOMOS Glashütte, THONET und viele mehr. Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Industriedesigner ist Mark Braun Mitinitiator der Plattform German Design Graduates und lehrte bereits an verschiedenen Hochschulen wie der Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein oder der ECAL Lausanne. Seit 2015 ist er Professor für Produkt- und Industriedesign an der HBKsaar.

Ruangrupa is a contemporary art collective based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Founded in 2000 by a group of 7 artists, they provided the platform “Gudskul” in South Jakarta for organising exhibitions, events and festivals, as well as conducting publishing services, workshops and research. Ruangrupa sincerely believes in sharing and working together and sees these elements as vital for developing Indonesian contemporary art and culture. Denisa Kollarová is a slovakian Graphic Designer who lives and works in Amsterdam. She graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2013. Playground situations as cultural resources are the fields of her on-going research in collaboration with Anna van Lingen. Together they published "Aldo van Eyck - seventeen playgrounds" in 2016. This publication revisits the seventeen remaining playgrounds in Amsterdam by Van Eyck. Ruins, public spaces, social architecture, city mapping and utopian architectural planning are of her interest which she shows in various books, exhibitions and lectures.
